New Chinese television rules ban depicting homosexuality and the supernatural

New rules for Chinese television ban depictions of homosexuality and other “abnormal” sexual relationships, affairs, one-night stands, the supernatural and reincarnation, and warn against showing “underage love,” smoking and binge drinking, unusual clothing, and people getting into fights, Hong Kong Free Press reported, citing a list of production regulations circulating online compiled by the China Television Drama Production Industry Association and the China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television. The rules also forbid scenes “which expose the methods adopted by detectives and show in detail how they crack cases, thereby assisting criminals in coming up with counter-moves”.
