Inspectors from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection have launched probes into a number of state-owned enterprises and government bodies including Sinopec, the parent company of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (0386.HKG, 600028.SHA), Reuters reported, citing state media. State news agency Xinhua said the investigation into Sinopec would focus on senior figures within the company who may be promoted to leadership roles, and would be completed within a month. The inspections will also include China Southern Airlines (1055.HKG, 600029.SHA) and China Unicom (Hong Kong) (0762.HKG).
