China’s first national level medical high-tech industrial development zone has been established in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province. The industrial base will be totally self-contained and, as a result, internationally competitive.
English People’s Daily Online reports this high-tech zone will have five industrial bases dealing with vaccine, chemical compound medicines, biomedicine and Chinese ready-made medicines as well as a high-end medical apparatus and equipment.
The zone has already attracted over 40 well-known medical research and development institutes including Hamuna Research Institute, Texas Medical Center from the US and China Pharmaceutical University.
More than 100 pharmaceutical production and service enterprises have been successively established in the zone, and nearly 200 research and development pharmaceutical papers have been submitted for publication and acceptance.
