New mobile newspaper

China Mobile, the country’s largest mobile phone operator, has teamed up with the official Xinhua News Agency to launch a mobile digital newspaper for the upcoming 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

China Mobile and Xinhua are offering a digital newspaper for the Expo.The digital newspaper will offer multimedia content including audio and video as well as images according to the two companies. China Mobile will send the digital version to more than 40 million subscribers during the event, which runs from May 1 to Oct. 31.
 
The number of domestic and international visitors to World Expo is expected to reach a record 70 million. 192 countries and 52 international organizations have confirmed that they will participate in the world-class event, the committee said.
 
Alibaba reports the Shanghai World Expo, which will cover 5.28 square kilometers, has the largest exhibiting area in the history of the event. A total of 550,000 hotel beds for visitors will be available in Shanghai, and more will be available in hotels in nearby cities.
