GE Medical Systems, a unit of US giant General Electric, has launched a new industrial park in Beijing.
The park covers an area of 60,000 sq m and
involves investment of US$26 million.
It will be a
base for engineering and development, manufacturing, sales and marketing, and will
eventually provide 25 percent of total global demand for CT scanners every year.
GE Medical plans to double its business volume in
China in the next three years.
GE Medical China
now exports 70 percent of its products but it wants to increase its domestic sales to 50
percent to tap into the growing Chinese market.
