No aircraft orders in 2005

Beijing said it would not approve any new commercial aircraft purchases in 2005, laying the decision to efforts aimed at cooling the overheated airline sector. The news immediately pushed Boeing stock down 2% in next-day trading. Yang Yuanyuan, director general of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, said China's carriers had already ordered enough planes to meet their 2005 requirements.
