China has no plan to split its second largest mobile carrier, China Unicom, a spokesman with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) told official media. Du Yuanquan said media reports suggesting the government was planning to merge its GSM business into China Mobile and CDMA business into China Netcom were "groundless and irresponsible".
