Chinese bottled water maker Nongfu Spring has accused Beijing Times of maliciously publishing false reports on its product quality, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. China’s press watchdog on Wednesday said it had accepted a “complaint” from Nongfu Spring. From April 10 to May 7, Beijing Times consecutively published 76 negative reports totaling 67 pages, which seriously damaged the reputation of the company, according to a statement from Nongfu. Last week a reporter from News Express admitted to publishing false stories targeting the country’s largest construction machine maker.
