Nordstrom recalls China-made girls' shoes

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Nordstrom had authorized a voluntary recall of China-made girls’ shoes due to a lead hazard, Reuters reported.  The surface paint on the outer sole of the shoes contains excessive lead that violates the federal lead paint standard, the CPSC said in a statement, but added no injuries had been reported yet. The recall of thousands of shoes includes six styles of Nordstrom-brand footwear for girls in certain colors. The shoes were sold exclusively at Nordstrom stores from September 2006 through February 2009.
