Representatives from North Korea at the six-party talks in Beijing have agreed in principle to begin disarming their nuclear weapons program, Reuters reported. China distributed draft proposals of an agreement that would outline a set of actions within a timeline to be agreed upon for implementing the September 2005 deal in which North Korea pledged to disarm in exchange for aid and security guarantees.
North Korea's chief negotiator, Kim Kye Gwan, said results of the talks, which are expected to last three to four days, will be dependent on the United States' willingness to give up its hostile policy and come out toward peaceful coexistence.
