Northwest Airlines said it will begin daily service between Detroit and Guangzhou, China, starting Oct. 31. The service will operate through Northwest's hub in Tokyo. NWA said the flight will provide daily single-connection to Honolulu; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/St. Paul; New York-JFK; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco. Despite service being months away, the airline said it is now accepting bookings at its web site.
