[photopress:Internet_1.gif,full,alignright]Online theft is a serious problem in China and legal experts have urged the establishment of a court to deal specifically with online crime.
Pi Yong, a professor at the Law School of Wuhan University, said, ‘Shenzhen can use its legislative right to set up the country’s first online crime court to better protect high-tech companies and netizens.
Authorities say it is difficult to define what an online crime is which makes it hard to crack down on.
According to figures that have not officially been confirmed, more than one million online theft cases occur in China every year but only a few of these can be prosecuted against under the current legal system.
