Pelosi to discuss climate change not human rights

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, said her trip to China would focus on energy and climate change, not human rights, the South China Morning Post reported. Pelosi is traveling with the House panel on global warming and is currently in Shanghai. She will travel to Beijing tomorrow to meet President Hu Jintao as well as attend a clean energy forum. Pelosi has been a critic of Beijing’s administration of Tibet and unfurled a banner in Tiananmen Square in 1991 protesting against the crackdown on pro-democracy activists in the square in 1989.
