French carmaker Peugeot will probably sell more vehicles on the mainland than in its home market of France by 2015, the Wall Street Journal reported. According to Timothy Zimmerman, a Peugeot China executive, the carmaker plans to sell 500,000 units on the mainland within four years, compared with annual sales of 400,000 in France. Zimmerman said Peugeot aims to sell over 200,000 cars in China next year. He said sales this year will be around 150,000 units compared with 112,000 in 2009. Peugeot, a unit of PSA Peugeot Citroen SA (UG.EPA) and a joint venture partner of Dongfeng Motor Group (0489.HK), expects to launch two models in the Chinese market next year.
