European electronics giant Philips has agreed to sell its handset research and development centre to the China Electronics Corporation (CEC), eastday.com website reported. CEC will also take a controlling share in Philips' Chinese production base. After the sale, Philips will be in charge of the sales and brand promotion of phones developed and manufactured by CEC.
