Baidu plans to release its ad auction system ‘hoenix Nest next week.The company plans to ‘lead’ new users to the Phoenix Nest between April and June and help transfer content from other systems in June, the report said.
Robin Li, chairman and CEO of Baidu, said Phoenix Nest is only an upgraded edition of its former Baidu Bidding Rank. But the back story suggests it is more than that: it is a way to go legitimate.
Earlier this year Baidu changed the name of its Bidding Rank program to Baidu Promotion and the launch of Phoenix Nest is the second step for the development of its Baidu Promotion.

Trading Markets reports that though it made serious profits for Baidu, it has been continuously criticized in that it was not an ethical search engine. Then, in 2008, Baidu Bidding Rank was accused by China’s CCTV of promoting fake medicine information. This led to the decrease of its share price by up to 26.22% and a historic low since May 2007.
The Phoenix Nest program is a new search engine advertising program of Baidu, which aims to finally replace Baidu Bidding Rank and thus recover its reputation.
