Poor Pizza Hut sales drag down Yum China

Shares in Yum China fell 9.3% post-trading on Tuesday after it reported declining sales for Pizza Hut in China, the Financial Times reports.

Revenues for the American fast-food chain, which operates KFC and Taco Bell in addition to Pizza Hut, rose 15% year-on-year in the first quarter to $2.2 billion. However, investors were unimpressed by the poor performance posted by Pizza Hut. Same-store sales growth at Pizza Hut restaurants were expected to reach 3.3%, but the real figures came in at only 3%.
