Volkswagen AG (VOW.FRA)’s Porsche will expand its auto line in China this year, most notably with a high-priced “supercar,” Bloomberg reported. The company said it will sell the Macan compact SUV and begin delivering a US$2.2 million auto to China. The carmarker’s best seller in the world’s largest automobile market is the Cayenne sport utility vehicle and it aims to build on that success in the second half of 2013 with the Macan,Head of China Operation Helmut Broeker said in a January 18 interview. “I’m very confident that when this car has been fully launched in the full year, China will be the number one market,” he said. Broeker went on to say that Porsche plans to double its number of dealerships from 49 to 95 in 2014. The new products are part of the company’s plans to make China its biggest market by next year.
