The rebuilding of the Xianggui (Hunan Province-Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) railway in Nanning, capital of southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has started.
Officials said the project was a key part of China’s medium and long-term plan of railway network construction.
Building of the project is expected to help in the industrialization and urbanization of areas along the railway, and help with poverty reduction and economic progress.
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, gateway to southeast Asia, was founded on December 11, 1958. It is one of China’s five ethnic minority autonomous regions, and has 12 ethnic groups.
