Redhead International has joined forces with Cosco Logistics UK to provide European-wide distribution services for companies importing goods from China.
The service integrates sea transport from China with break bulk (you open the container, work out what is going to who and load it onto appropriate trucks) and goods distribution into the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe.
It will also allow goods to be dropped off at various ports in the Mediterranean en route to the UK.
For importers with Eastern and Southern European distribution requirements, Redhead will link up with its network of European partners to arrange breakdown and distribution of goods to destinations in these areas. This is designed to improve delivery times and reduce unnecessary road journeys.
Logistics Manager.com said Redhead will use its own warehousing and storage facilities in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to break bulk and distribute goods bound for destinations in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe. Two extra points. The first is that Redhead has always been known as a major magazine distributor. This is not a market to bet on. The second is that in all of the publicity photographs not a single member of the staff has red hair.
