Seven win bid for TD-SCDMA handsets

Seven suppliers have jointly won bids to supply China Mobile with 6 million TD-SCDMA mobile phones. Some 3.6 million of the total mobile phones in the tender are also low-end mobile TV terminals. The remaining 2.4 million are intermediate mobile TV terminals.
Ranked by the size of the orders they won, the seven winners are ZTE, Coolpad, Lenovo, Huawei, Hisense Electric, New Postcom and T-smart.
CapitalVue reports China Mobile will purchase over 500,000 units of each type of mobile phone, including seven types of low-end mobile TV terminals and five types of intermediate mobile TV terminals.
