Seventh Foxconn worker this year plunges to death

A man fell to his death from the seventh floor of a dormitory building at Hon Hai Precision Industry in Shenzhen, marking the seventh death in 2010 alone at the electronics manufacturer, reported Reuters. Police are investigating whether it was a suicide. A string of suicides at Hon Hai has drawn increasing scrutiny to the company, also known as Foxconn, the world’s top contract maker of cell phones. The Taiwanese firm serves as an electronics supplier to Apple (AAPL.NASDAQ) and Sony Ericsson. The most recent incident follows the suicide last Tuesday by a 24-year-old woman who leaped from an apartment building at Hon Hai’s Longhua plant.
