Shanghai International Airport and China Eastern Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation agreement which aims to increase total passenger throughput in Pudong International and Hongqiao airports to 100 million by 2015.
Li Derun, the chairman of Shanghai International Airport, said Pudong and Hongqiao are respectively targeting 65 million and 35 million passengers.
Shanghai International Airport has set a target of 5.5 million tons for cargo throughput, with Pudong and Hongqiao targeting 4.75 million tons and 750,000 tons respectively.
CapitalVue reports Shanghai International Airport also intends to speed up the construction of Pudong’s fourth and fifth runways.
