Shanghai Industrial to invest in water projects

Shanghai Industrial Holdings announced it would invest RMB 10 billion in its water supply and treatment business over the next three years.

The company has signed preliminary agreements with state-owned China Energy Conservation Investment to form two JVs.

China Energy is the country's only state-level public enterprise focused on the businesses of environmental protection and energy conservation.

China Water & Sewage is expected to invest US$30 million by 2006 in a 100,000-tonne waterworks, a 60,000-tonne sewage treatment plant and drainage for water supply and sewage.
