Shanghai World Expo IP protection

Special protection of International, intellectual rights are being carried out at Shanghai World Expo 2010. Xu Chao, an official from the Department of Copyright Management under the National Copyright Administration promised that the matter would be receiving special attention.

Xu Chao, an official from the Department of Copyright Management under the National Copyright Administration, said,  China will provide both judicial and administrative relief channels for intellectual property rights protection at the Shanghai World Expo.
 
Eight departments, including the State Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Public Security and the General Administration of Customs, jointly issued a statement before the Export called the "notice of special action on the intellectual property rights protection of the Shanghai World Expo 2010."
 
The General Administration of Press and Publication and the National Copyright Administration have also called for a rapid-response mechanism to protect the intellectual property rights of the Shanghai World Expo. This means that copyright departments at all levels will check materials that may infringe on the copyrights of the Shanghai World Expo as soon as they are found.
 
People’s Daily Online reported that Xu said, "The rapid-response mechanism has been very effective. Recently, we have taken action against certain audio-visual materials which infringe on the copyrights of the Shanghai World Expo."
