Shenyang microchip plant underway

Construction has started on the site of Shenyang Keysi STL Semiconductor Manu-factoring Co, the first
microchip plant in northeast China, Xinhua reported. The joint venture partners are Keysi
International of the US and Korea's Silicon Technology and the new plant will focus on the
design, production and testing of integrated circuit ships. Investment in the first phase,
which is expected to come on-stream within a year, will total US$78m.
