Shenzhen prepares for 3-year reform deepening

Shenzhen has recently announced a plan to deepen reform and create a Qianhai-Shenzhen-Hong Kong co-operation zone, South China Morning Post reported. Under the plan, institutional reform would accelerate in Qianhai and cross-border cooperation would increase between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The reform plan, scheduled to be implemented between 2013 to 2015, was released at a city government reform work conference and falls in line with President Xi Jinping’s endorsement of an experimental zone in the region. Xi visited Shenzhen in December, where he sent strong signals that he backed a reform push.
