Singapore Airlines' cargo subsidiary is to expand its services to China from April following the recent signing of an air services agreement between the two countries.
SIA Cargo intends to use Boeing 747-400 freighters to fly from Singapore to Xiamen and Nanjing, then on to Chicago, three times a week. Two of the new services will continue on to Brussels and Copenhagen before returning to Singapore via Sharjah. The third will return from Chicago via Nanjing, while a flight from Los Angeles will be re-routed to provide a second Singapore-Nanjing service. SIA Cargo already operates four weekly air freighter services between Singapore and Shanghai.
