Siemens looks for China wind turbine JV

Siemens is in talks with a potential partner to establish its first wind power turbine manufacturing joint venture in China, the South China Morning Post reported, citing the company’s energy division chief, Wolfgang Dehen. The venture would make both onshore and offshore wind turbines. Dehen did not confirm whether or not the potential partner would be Shanghai Electric, in which Seimens has a 5% stake as well as joint ventures in the production of steam turbines and turbine generators. State-owned Longyuan Group commissioned the country’s first two offshore wind power turbines to be located off Jiangsu’s coast in October.
