Sina to sell China to China netizens

Chinese leading internet media company Sina Corporation, which is listed on Nasdaq, has signed an agreement with the National Tourism Administration to launch an online tourism project. It is, as it were, selling China to the Chinese.

TMC reported Sina has said that the project will give netizens access to pictures, stories and videos introducing them to China’s famous scenery.

An official with the tourism authority, said, ‘This activity will have dynamic coverage and, as a result, a broad influence. As a reult I believe that the project will give a strong push to domestic tourism consumption.’

Gao Wen, senior editor of Sina, said ‘China’s GDP per capita has exceeded $2,000, which should dramatically spur domestic tourism consumption.’
