Singapore Exchange in talks to trade options on China equity index

The Singapore Exchange plans to introduce trading of options on the FTSE China A50 Index and expects approval from Chinese regulators once such risk-hedging products have been introduced in China, various news agencies reported, citing Exchange President Muthukrishnan Ramaswami. Volume on China A50 futures traded in Singapore surged 183% in the three months to December last year. “We are not in a great rush,” said Ramaswami. “The futures have some room to grow and options do provide a second stage of growth.”
