The Singapore Exchange plans to introduce trading of options on the FTSE China A50 Index and expects approval from Chinese regulators once such risk-hedging products have been introduced in China, various news agencies reported, citing Exchange President Muthukrishnan Ramaswami. Volume on China A50 futures traded in Singapore surged 183% in the three months to December last year. “We are not in a great rush,” said Ramaswami. “The futures have some room to grow and options do provide a second stage of growth.”
