Sinopec in Kuwaiti bid

Kuwaiti Energy Minister Ahmad Fahad Al-Sabah revealed that China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec) is bidding on a US$6 billion oil project as part of a consortium that includes US-based ChevronTexaco, Fance's Total as well as Canadian and Ruissian energy companies. Al-Sabah made the disclosure on a visit to Hong Kong and said Sinopec had already been qualified as an official bidder. Three consortia are bidding on the project. One is led by BP, the other by ExxonMobil.
