Sinopec makes offer for Ghanaian oil field

One of China’s state-owned oil company has made an offer for a stake a major oil field off the coast of Ghana, the Wall Street Journal reported. China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation have asked Ghana National Petroleum to form a joint bid for the Jubilee oil field, owned by US company Kosmos Energy. Unnamed sources claim that the offer has been rejected by the GNP, who are waiting to hear from other companies before making their decision. Several other foreign companies, including BP, Total and CNOOC have sent representatives to Ghana to inquire about a possible deal.
