Sinopec to revamp gas stations

Sinopec, China's leading gasoline provider, will devote US$200 million special fund to renovate its filling stations around the country, Shanghai Securities News reported (in Chinese). Thousands of gas stations will be overhauled over the next few years to include dining, shopping and vehicle maintenance facilities in addition to gas pumps. Part of the company's strategy involves opening "Drive-Thru" restaurants at Sinopec stations through its partnership with McDonald's, which began in June 2006.
