SK Telecom to make CDMA phones in China

Signaling still further hollowing out of the country's manufacturing sector, South Korea's mobile network giant SK Telecom said it had secured its license to make handsets on the mainland, according to Reuters. SK Mobile China, SK's joint venture with Datang Telecom & Tech and Tiandi Group Telecom Industry, will make CDMA-standard phones. SK will hold 60% of the JV.
