Property developer Soho China has expressed interest in shopping center and hotel projects in Taiwan, which could benefit from increased visitors from the mainland later this year, the South China Morning Post reported. Soho chairman Pan Shiyi, who visited the island last month, said residential and office projects there could probably wait for the local economy to improve. Pan pointed to the July start of the "three-links" policy (referring to direct mail, trade and transport between Taiwan and the mainland) promised by president-elect Ma Ying-jeou as a significant event for Taiwan’s economy.
