Sony (China) Co Ltd announced it would set up a design and R&D base in Shanghai to design new products for the Chinese market, state media reported, citing Shizuo Takashino, president of the Sony (China) Design & Engineering Group. Last year, Sony's China electronic business launched nearly 100 new products produced by more than 20,000 Chinese workers.
