Starbucks recalled 250,000 children's plastic cups made in China, Reuters reported. The world's biggest coffee shop chain said it received reports of the cups breaking and posing a choking hazard. Specifically, it received two reports of children choking on a piece of the broken cup, though no injuries were reported. The cups, plastic 10-ounce receptacles with lids, were sold for US$6 apiece at Starbucks stores in the US from May 2006 to August 2007. Starbucks is offering a free drink as an incentive for consumers to return the recalled cups.
