The Asia-Link Symposium provides a platform for a dialog between government officials, key senior managers, policy makers, and representatives from higher education institutions and academic networks from both China and Europe.
Jan Figel, the EU Commissioner of Education, Training, Culture & Youth, says the Asia-Link Symposium serves as a platform for the two sides to exchange views. He said, ‘I believe that this Asia-Link Symposium in Beijing is a real step forward towards collaboration in Higher Education.’
Wu Qidi, China’s Vice Education Minster, seen in our illustration, said, ‘Today, both China and EU find it urgent to promote our innovative power, so as to assure sustainable growth of our economies and optimistic development in our competitive power.
‘While universities are the fountainhead of scientific and technological innovation, promoting innovative power of the whole society, collaboration between universities in different nations is truly necessary.’
