Zhengrong Shi, the chairman and founder of Suntech Power, the world’s largest solar energy company, believes that with improvements in solar energy panels, the time is not far when it will be less expensive than all other forms of energy generation.
In a sense, Shi is the man who has successfully commercialized the technology to do it all.
Shi was recently interviewed in Sydney, where he was preaching to the converted. Throughout Australia the use of solar energy is pushed ahead, in many cases with substantial government subsidies. Shi studied in Australia for 14 years so he was, as it were, back on home territory.
