Surge in export growth

China’s exports in the first two months of this year totalled US$40.84bn, 14.1 per cent higher than in the same period of last year. Imports were up 3.2 per cent to US$34.89bn, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation. The comparable growth figures for last year were 6.8 per cent and 8.2 per cent, respectively.
