The National Bureau of Statistics again restated GDP figures, increasing annual growth by an average of 0.5% between 1993 and 2004. The revision came as implications of last year’s survey of China’s back-lane economy were factored into previous results from the abandoned production-based accounting system. NBS said economic output had risen by 10% in 2003 and 10.1% in 2004, up from the 9.5% growth previously stated, the Financial Times reported. The only year for which the NBS did not revise GDP was 1998.
