The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has issued approval for the Suzhou Industrial Park in east China’s Jiangsu Province to build a special economic zone in Laos.
This will be built by the specially set up Suzhou Industrial Park Overseas Investment which will build a joint venture economic zone.
The company will make use of the successful experience of the Suzhou Industrial Park in the fields of planning, construction, management and attracting investment in building the zone in Laos.
The Suzhou Industrial Park, an important cooperation project between Chinese and Singapore governments, was launched in 1994.
