Suzhou Xushuguan Economic Development Zone is one of the first four Chinese Industrial parks open to APEC members and one of the first ISO14000-certified industrial estates in China.

Suzhou sits in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta and the south of Jiangsu Province. It borders the coastal economic area and the developing Yangtze River area.

Great Suzhou Area covers 8,488 sq km, including five counties, namely, Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Taicang, Kunshan and Wujiang.

In 1992, SND was approved by China’s Central Government as a National Level Hi-tech Industrial Park.
In 1999, SND was approved as one of the First ISO14000-certified industrial estates in China.
In December, 2003, SND was approved by the State Bureau of Environment Protection as the First Demonstration Parks of National Zoology Industry.

Located in the north-west of SND, Jiangsu Suzhou Xushuguan Economic Developing Zone was established in September, 1992 and was approved as a provincial level development zone by Jiangsu Province Government in December, 1993. In year 2002, it became a sub-zone of SND.
