Taiwan stock exchange closed Friday ahead of incoming typhoon

The Taiwan Stock Exchange has delayed all settlement of stock-market funds and securities until Monday as schools and government offices in the northern half of the island were ordered to close ahead of the landfall of Typhoon Chan-hom, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a statement from the exchange. The Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport said a handful of flights for Friday, including those to mainland China and Hong Kong, had been canceled due to torrential rain, with more cancellations expected.
