Taiwan's pro-unification Kuomintang opposition party urged the Mainland to open dialogue on mutual cross-strait concerns as KMT stalwarts prepared for their first official visit to the mainland since 1949. The delegation will visit tombs of party members in Nanjing and Guanzhou to mark the 80th anniversary of the death KMT founder Sun Yatsen. The trip follows Satuday's mass protest in Taiwan against Beijing's newly passed anti-secession law by hundreds of thousands, which fell short of the 1m that Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian called for.
