Temasek to invest US$2.4 billion in CCB

Singapore's state-owned fund management company Temasek Holdings Pte is poised to double its investment in China Construction Bank (CCB) through a US$1.4 billion stock purchase ahead of the group's initial public offering in October, Bloomberg reported. This comes in addition to the US$1 billion Temasek has already pledged to the IPO. The move is seen as part of the company's efforts to expand its financial investments across Asia and reduce reliance on the city state, which currently accounts for more than half its assets.
