Beijing Capital International airport (0694.HKG), announced mediocre half yearly results with net profit falling flat, the The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a company statement. Net profit ended June 30 rose 0.6% to RMB677.7 million (US$110.2 million) from RMB673.3 million a year earlier. Its revenue rose 4.8% to RMB3.7 billion from RMB3.53 billion. Air-traffic volume growth has been slowing recently, as the airport is running well beyond its designed capacity of 76 million passengers a year. Furthermore, slower economic growth, political uncertainty and a decrease in air travel demand to Southeast Asian countries following the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 also contributed to the traffic-growth slowdown.
