Tesco poised to enter China market

UK retailer Tesco PLC plans to acquire a 50% stake in Hymall, the Chinese mainland subsidiary of Ting Hsin International Group of Taiwan, according to Chinese media reports. Officials from the two firms refused to comment on the deal. Tesco was previously reported to have offered US$200 million for Hymall's 25 mainland outlets, according to a recent Financial Times report.
