Texas Instruments Inc (TI) and Chinese television manufacturer Skyworth Group signed an agreement to establish a semiconductor lab. The China-based lab will focus on digital light processing technology for high definition television (HDTV).
Skyworth aims to acquire Texas Instruments' HDTV technology through the deal, while TI will target Guangdong province-based Skyworth's local network to expand its China market presence. The two companies have been cooperating in digital light processing technology for the past few years.
